The Chicago Auto Show, one of the largest and most widely-anticipated car shows of the year, gets underway on February 8th, and it’s there that we’ll get our first look at the production models for the new Acura ILX and RDX. Yes, we’ve more or less already seen what these will look like because the concepts debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, but it will still be nice to get a final look at the vehicles we’ll actually be selling later in the year.
Of course, that mostly applies to the RDX, which was more or less complete at the time doors were opened to the automotive faithful in the Motor City. Patrons were able to scope out nearly every detail of that model, but the interior of the ILX sedan was hidden. This means that Chicago will likely offer us a better opportunity to see inside the vehicle, and it would be nice to also get more confirmation on a listing price, which in Detroit was labeled at “Below $30,000.” The ILX sedan will boast three different powertrains—a 2.0-liter and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, as well as a 1.5-liter hybrid engine borrowed from the Honda Civic, and we’ll hopefully get a closer look at all three in the Windy City next month.
For dealerships like us that sell Acura cars in Los Angeles, these sorts of reveals are very exciting, so we can’t wait to see what the finished products look like. Next up is the latest RL, which will go public this April in New York, and we can’t wait for that one, either.
