Acura Looking to Bring Back the NSX

Culture works in cycles. Music, fashion, television, and even toys from the past go out of style, hibernate for a little while, and just when everybody seems to have forgotten about them, they find a way to revive themselves. In general, America simply refuses to let the ‘90s drift off into the sunset, bringing back ‘90s hits like “Beavis and Butthead” to MTV, reissuing vintage Air Jordan shoes, or resurrecting the flannel shirt to today’s teenage fashion arsenal. We submit that this is a good thing, because one more little bit of glory coming back from the ‘90s is the Acura NSX, one of our favorite cars in the history of our brand.

Way back in the ‘90s, really before the Civic had been accepted as the King of Sedans, Honda put a lot of time and money into doing some cool stuff with racing vehicles, which led to the development of the NSX. When it first came out, it blew the world away because it was able to hang with the big boys on a track without having to go overboard on muscle. People loved it, apparently enough to find a way to bring it back.

The new NSX concept, which was only just released to the public, will keep the same V6 engine as its predecessor, and will focus on lightweight materials and racing technology to keep the car light and easy to drive. There was once talk of trying a V10, but Acura and Honda are so driven by fuel efficiency, that they decided to stick with what worked before.

And what worked before is about to work again for every Acura dealer in Calabasas. If you missed the ‘90s, and you missed this car, you’re about to be pleasantly reminded about how wonderful it was. And now, is.
